Congratulations to the FMS track and field team for receiving 33 awards at Saturday’s middle school invitational tournament at White Cloud.
Leading the way for the girl’s was Mercedes Westbrook with a personal best record of 13 minutes 11 seconds in the 2 mile run.
Mikayla Anderson was 1st overall at the tournament in the 800 meter run.
Claire Schaar and Ashley Schmidt both won awards in the 1 mile run.
Whitney Jones, Taylor Whitney, Kendra Stacey, Erica Vandermeer, and Katie Harrington also won awards Saturday in frigid conditions. Good job ladies!
Congratulations to Tim Palmer and Jesse Reichle for winning gold medals in the 200 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash.
Also, congratulations to Tyler Green for winning awards in the 1 mile and 2 mile race.
Congratulations to the Fremont Middle School girl’s track and field team for their second straight dominating win last night.
The girl’s team defeated Newaygo by the score of 84 to 56.
First place finishers include Mercedes Westbrook in 3 events, Kennedy Bolles, Claire Abendroth in 2 events, Mikayla Anderson, Bryanna Durham, Claire Schaar, Ashley Schmidt, and Hailey Scheffler.
Special congratulations to Erica Vandermeer for winning the Pole Vaulting event in her first time ever in that event.
The boy’s track team lost a close meet by 6 points against Newaygo.
Congratulations to Robbie McPherson, Tim Palmer, Jesse Reichle, and JohPaul Hills for winning multiple events.
