Ludington beats Fremont in boys basketball

At Ludington, the Orioles overcame a poor shooting night to remain undefeated in
conference play. The Orioles led 16-13 after one quarter and increased the lead
to 48-41 after three quarters. Gabe Rivera led the Orioles with 21 points and five
assists and Jeff Urka added 19 points. Tyler Krim paced Fremont with 18 points,
Reed Luchies added 14 and Adam Hawes scored 12.

Muskegon Heights rolls over Fremont in boys basketball holiday tournament

Scott scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds on Friday, leading Heights to
an impressive 67-30 rout of previously unbeaten Fremont in the opening game of the
Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame Holiday Classic at Reeths-Puffer.

Heights, 2-2, was dominant against Fremont, as guards Sean Davis, Jamil Thornton,
Scott and Ricarri Stimage keyed a second-quarter explosion that gave the Tigers

Reed Luchies shot the lights out on Thursday night.

Fremont beats Whitehall in boys basketball

Fremont 54, Whitehall 36 – At Fremont, the host Packers’ intense man-to-man defense
held Whitehall scoreless for the first 5:30 of the second half. The Packers’ broke
a halftime tie and took an 11-point lead with their third-quarter surge. Fremont’s
Reed Luchies finished with a game-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Tyler
Krim added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Packers. Tyler VanBergen had 12 rebounds
for Whitehall.

Fremont beats Newaygo in boys basketball

Fremont 41, Newaygo 26 - At Newaygo, the Packers pulled away in the second half
of a game that featured defense. Leading 17-12 at halftime, Fremont sued a 12-5
scoring advantage in the third quarter in the season-opener for both teams. Reed
Luchies scored a game-high 23 points for the Packers. Newaygo, which hit 10-of-11
from the free throw line struggled from the field and no one player scored more
than five points.
