The Fremont High School girls golf team completed league play with a fourth place
finish.
Haley Bolles led the team with top individual honors in the last two jamborees and
also won first team all-conference honors.
“Haley has really played some solid golf the past two weeks,” said Coach
Dave Wojcicki, “and I look forward to seeing her do well at regionals.”
Freshman Sydney Baird earned honorable mention all-conference.
“Sydney accomplished a lot as a freshman,” Wojcicki said. “With
some additional hard work, she will have a bright future ahead of her on the links.”
Senior Amanda Wagenmaker developed into Fremont’s third ranked golfer, dropping
her scores significantly three weeks into the season.
At the Spring Lake Jamboree on Sept. 17, Bolles shot a 45, Wagenmaker shot 61, Baird
shot 62 and Ashleigh Kolski shot a 63.
At the Fremont Jamboree on Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Packer scoring included Bolles
43, Baird 53, Wagenmaker 58 and Cate Norman 67.
Spring Lake placed first in the Lakes 8 conference standings, followed by Ludington,
Fruitport and Fremont. Tri-County was fifth and Newaygo placed sixth.
The All-Conference first team includes Emily Rosencrants of Spring Lake, Haley Bolles
of Fremont, Kerry Ryan of Spring Lake, Breanna Striker of Spring Lake and Mary Bradley
of Tri-County.
The second team includes Jaime Rosema of Spring Lake, Kellyn Vos of Tri-County,
Eryn Gregory of Spring Lake, Andrea Jones of Fruitport and Cassandra Macdonnell
of Ludington.
Honorable mention awards go to Kaleigh Haase of Fruitport, Julia Wilson of Ludington,
Sidney Baird of Fremont and Danielle Soles of Ludington.
